২৫ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৪ (বুধবার): গত ২৪ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৪ তারিখ রাত আনুমানিক ০৩০০ ঘটিকায় কক্সবাজার জেলার চকরিয়ায় গোয়েন্দা তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে ডাকাতি প্রতিরোধ অভিযান পরিচালনার সময় বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর লেফটেন্যান্ট তানজিম ছারোয়ার নির্জন (২৩) শহিদ হন। উক্ত এলাকায় চিরুনি অভিযান পরিচালনা করে বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী কর্তৃক ঘটনার সাথে সংশ্লিষ্ট ০৬ জনকে আটক করা হয়। আটককৃত সন্ত্রাসীদের নিকট হতে ২টি দেশিয় আগ্নেয়াস্ত্র, বিভিন্ন ধরনের ১১ রাউন্ড গুলি, হত্যাকাণ্ডে ব্যবহৃত একটি ছুরি, একটি পিকআপ এবং একটি মোটরসাইকেল উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। প্রাথমিক জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে জানা যায় যে, আটককৃতদের মধ্যে ০৪ জন প্রত্যক্ষভাবে সংঘটিত অপরাধের সাথে জড়িত ছিল এবং অবশিষ্ট ২ জন তথ্য দিয়ে সহায়তা করেছে। আটককৃতরা হলো- মোঃ বাবুল প্রকাশ (৪৪), মোঃ হেলাল উদ্দিন (৩৪), মোঃ আনোয়ার হাকিম (২৮), মোঃ আরিফ উল্লাহ (২৫), মোঃ জিয়াবুল করিম (৪৫) এবং মোঃ হোসেন (৩৯)। আটককৃতদের মধ্যে মোঃ বাবুল প্রকাশ এই ঘটনার মূল অর্থ যোগান দাতা। এছাড়াও সে লেফটেন্যান্ট তানজিমকে প্রাণঘাতী ছুরিকাঘাত করে বলে প্রাথমিক স্বীকারোক্তি প্রদান করে। অন্যান্য আটককৃতদের মধ্যে ডাকাত দলের সেকেন্ড ইন কমান্ড মোঃ হেলাল উদ্দিন, গাড়ি চালক মোঃ আনোয়ার হাকিম, সশস্ত্র সদস্য মোঃ আরিফ উল্লাহ এবং তথ্য দাতা মোঃ জিয়াবুল করিম ও মোঃ হোসেন উক্ত ঘটনার সাথে নিজেদের সরাসরি সম্পৃক্ততার কথা স্বীকার করেছে। ডাকাত দলের অন্যান্য জড়িত সদস্যদের গ্রেফতারের জন্য বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর অভিযান অব্যাহত রয়েছে।
উল্লেখ্য, আটককৃত ০৬ জনকে চকরিয়া থানা পুলিশের নিকট হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে এবং সেনাসদস্য বাদী হয়ে চকরিয়া থানায় মামলা দায়ের এর কার্যক্রম চলমান রয়েছে।
